Marching Towards Success

The Mauldin High Marching Band never fails to impress. They’ve put in endless hours of work since the end of July and they deserve to be acknowledged for all of their time, effort, and accomplishments. So far this season, they’ve received first in the 7A division at Boiling Springs (the highest division there), the best visual award, and the best percussion section at the Foothills Tournament of Champions. After talking to a few marching band members, I asked what their experience has been like. According to junior alto saxophone player, Parker Finch, “It’s stressful. You want to quit at least three times a week, but you stay in it because you love it.”
